Adaptive Golf Equipment and Instruction

A physical disability/physical difference can be anything that deviates from normal/perfect.  Typically we only think of cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, amputations/limb loss, visual impairment, stroke, spinal cord injury, etc., as “disabilities” when actually a disability can be anything:  a torn rotator; slipped disc; ingrown toe nail; uneven leg length; decreased muscle control, strength or endurance; balance issues; etc..   Any one medical condition/disability can present in many different forms.  All individuals with spina bifida will not have the same abilities; every amputee golfer or stroke patient who swings with one arm won’t necessarily use the same adaptive equipment, if any.  Every student’s swing is uniquely theirs, like a fingerprint or signature.

The modifications to the swing and adaptations to equipment must likewise be personalized for each individual.
